Background

This modern farmhouse on a budget was once planned to be the client’s forever home. But as in life, things change. The homeowner’s plans on remodeling staying in their home quickly pivoted when, at the end of the renovation, the homeowner had an ah-hah moment. And that moment was when they jumped into the then-red hot Sonoma County real estate market where they sold the home for an all- cash offer, way over the asking price. Good on them. So, what was Kokeena’s role?

Challenges and Solution

Firstly, the path to get there was a bit challenging. As this home was being retrofitted in 2021 and you were to guess that one of the big challenges was the pandemic and supply chain issues, you’d be right. Many of the supplies needed for the cabinet boxes were hard to find as were other items to complete the project.

Once the supply chain issues were resolved they turned to Kokeena and its Townsend Home Collection. Midnight and White “really hit the mark,” according to homeowner Martine Piazza of Staged Right Sonoma, especially complemented with Kokeena’s Rift Oak stacked hutch and custom island side panels and wrapped hood to match.

As part of the solution (a happy one at that), the homeowners moved the original cramped kitchen to a different location in the house revealing an open, sunny new layout. That island and hood with wrapped custom panels really helped drive home that “Sonoma chic” vibe and look the homeowners were going after. “The designer paint collection finishes where right on point,” said Piazza.

Results

Kokeena planned the new layout for the kitchen and helped worked through scarcity issues while sharing design knowledge and tips. The outcome? A gorgeous house freshly staged and, on the market, immediately—and quickly sold! It’s now someone’s forever home and one that they are definitely loving.
